Based in San Diego, California, Scripps Health Continuing Medical Education (CME) is committed to improving the quality of health care and advancing the practice of medicine by providing high quality, evidence-based and clinically relevant continuing medical education activities for physicians and allied health care professionals. Educational activities are developed with a focus on improving knowledge, competence and performance in practice, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes. Scripps Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for physicians.

Scripps CME Activities

As an ACCME accredited organization, it is the policy of Scripps Health to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all sponsored educational activities. Scripps maintains complete control over the continuing education activity content and speaker selection. All course planning is done internally through the Scripps Health CME department which is regulated by the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education. The course director(s) and/or planning committee(s) select all speakers based solely on their area of expertise and the activity’s educational objectives. Scripps fully and independently manages all aspects of the budget, audience recruitment, and faculty management according to both ACCME and Scripps internal policies.
