Overview

The Scripps Structural Heart Intervention and Imaging course delivers a practical, state-of-the-art, live case-based review of structural heart disease interventions and cardiovascular imaging. Emphasizing multidisciplinary collaboration, the program features expert faculty, including interventional cardiologists, echocardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, and sonographers. The course will cover clinical guidelines on patient selection, pre-procedural evaluation, procedural techniques, imaging integration, and challenges, concluding with outcome assessments and future innovations in the field.

Join us Wednesday, February 11th for a complimentary San Diego Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair Conclave non-CME dinner symposium supported by Abbott.

Philips VeriSight Pro 3D ICE Simulator Education

Advance your structural imaging knowledge with VeriSight Pro 3D ICE

Thursday, February 12, 2026: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Friday, February 13, 2026: 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Experience one-on-one, hands-on simulator education with VeriSight Pro 3D ICE, designed for interventional and advanced imaging professionals looking to deepen procedural confidence and expand clinical applications.

These individualized sessions provide focused, procedure-based learning across a range of structural interventions—including TTEER, TTVR, MTEER and LAAO—with expert guidance on optimizing real-time 3D ICE imaging, workflow integration, and procedural decision-making.

Whether you are refining current use or exploring expanded indications, this immersive simulator experience offers practical insights you can immediately apply in your practice. Space is limited.

Sign-up here for a hands-on session with Philips

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Build and optimize a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals to ensure appropriate management of patients with structural heart disease.
  2. Identify the equipment and imaging technologies necessary to perform structural heart disease interventions.
  3. Apply a comprehensive approach to the assessment of the aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valves, the interatrial septum, and the left and right ventricles, using echocardiography (TTE, TEE, and ICE), CT, and MRI for the purpose of the interventional treatment of these cardiac structures.
  4. Outline the current indications for LAA closure, PFO closure, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR), and mitral transcatheter edge to edge repair (TEER).
  5. Evaluate echocardiographic and CT imaging before and after LAA closure, and identify and measure peri-device leaks, device-related thrombus, and other potential complications.
  6. Identify appropriate treatment strategies for patients with mitral valve disease (i.e., TEER or TMVR) or tricuspid valve disease (i.e., TEER or TTVR) based upon imaging findings.
  7. Incorporate live TEE multiplanar imaging to optimize transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve intervention.
  8. Apply 2D and 4D ICE during structural heart intervention.
  9. Recognize the risk of left ventricular outflow tract obstruction after TMVR and coronary occlusion after TAVR and apply specific interventional strategies to prevent them (e.g., LAMPOON and BASILICA).
  10. Integrate emerging data regarding surgical risk, including low and intermediate-risk patients into TAVR decision-making.
  11. Recognize heart failure patients who might benefit from novel interventional strategies, such as interatrial shunt devices, to improve symptoms.
  12. Optimize the anesthetic management of patients with reduced ejection fraction undergoing TEER or TMVR.
  13. Employ best practices to safely manage potential complications of catheter-based therapies for structural heart disease.

Mitigation of Relevant Financial Relationships

Disclosure of Relevant Financial Relationships and Content Validity

It is policy at Scripps Health’s Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for course directors, planners, moderators, faculty, and all others in a position to control content of an educational activity disclose all financial relationships with ineligible companies that they may have had within the past 24 months. This policy is in accordance with the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education. An ineligible company is any entity whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients. If an individual refuses to disclose financial relationships, they will be disqualified from being a part of the planning and implementation of the activity. Owners and/or employees of an ineligible company with business lines or products relating to the content of the activity will not be permitted to participate in the planning or execution of any accredited program.

The intent of this policy is to ensure that Scripps Health CME/CE certified activities promote quality and safety, are effective in improving medical practice, consist of valid, evidence-based content, and are independent of control from ineligible companies and free of commercial bias. Peer review of all content was conducted for all faculty presentations whose disclosure information was found to contain any financial relationships. This process consisted of reviewing the content, determining which financial relationships were relevant, and applying appropriate mitigation strategies. All listed relevant financial relationships with ineligible companies for individuals in control of content have been mitigated prior to the commencement of the activity.

The staff in Scripps Health’s Office of Continuing Medical Education have disclosed that they have no financial relationships with any ineligible companies. Any peer reviewer who is determined to have a relevant financial relationship must recuse themselves from the peer review process.
